Logo for Next Global Stage LLC
Just a quick post of the logo work I did for Next Global Stage, LLC which is an Asia focused advisory, consulting, & investment management group. Lots of changes between the logo development, but it was fun to attempt multiple aspects of designing a corporate identity for them.

Knitted Slouchy Hat
Okay, so this is my first finished knit piece that I really adore. It's not perfect, but the colors are awesome and it fits my noggin. Also, though I've been knitting for several years now, I only pick it up as a hobby during my down time, so I still consider myself a novice. This pattern is not a real pattern. I just winged it as I went.
Materials:
*Double Pointed Needles in sizes 6 and 8.
*Circular Needle size 9.
*1 Skein Patons Kroy Socks FX yarn in Clover Colors.
First: Cast on 120 st on size 6 DPNs, 40 st per needle.
Rows 1-10: Work in k2p2 rib stitch for hat rim.
Row 11: Switch needles using size 8 DPNs, work in knit stitch.
Row 12: Continue in knit st, increase 1 every 20 st.
Rows 13-18: Carry over increases throughout pattern (i.e. row 13, inc 1 at every 21 st; row 14, inc 1 at every 22 st; etc).
Next 25 Rows: Switch to Circular needles. Use a stitch marker and mark the beginning of your row. Continue in knit st. You can add more rows to add more slouch.
Finishing up: Divide number of stitches evenly by 6 and mark(refer to intervals at increases). Switch back to size 8 DPNs. Begin decreasing 1 st at each marker until you have 6 st left. Loop tale of yarn through last stitches and securely tie off on the inside of the hat. Ta Da! You've knitted a slouchy hat!
**Shaping** My hat seemed a bit funky, so I put it on a dinner plate and lightly sprayed some warm water on it. Let it sit over night and dry. It should have a smoother rounded shape.

Hot Top!
This post is a bit past due, but my brother had asked me to make him a t-shirt with the Sriracha hot sauce logo on it for his Halloween costume.
Considering I had no real experience with screen printing, I decided to take on a DIY approach. After a rough idea, I headed out to JoAnn Fabrics and Michaels Craft Store to grab my materials:
*1 large red t-shirt
*1 large green t-shirt
*white fabric paint
*white poster board (or contact paper)
*a pencil
*tape
*paint brushes
*scrap cardboard
*x-acto knife
After drawing out the stencil on the poster board and carefully cutting out the pieces where I will be painting, I laid the shirt flat out with the cardboard in between the front and back layers. Then I taped the stencil down onto the center of the shirt front, and began painting. IT IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO TEST THE PAINT ON SCRAP FABRIC BEFORE BEGINNING THE ACTUAL PROJECT.
After painting, it is important to carefully remove the stencil before the paint dries. While the paint was drying, I cut out part of the green t-shirt in the shape of a hood and began my stitching project.
When all was complete - paint dried and hood stitched - I sewed the two pieces together and... ta da! An awesome, one of a kind shirt for the best hot sauce ever!

Nai's Friend
Nai [December 1 at 11:56pm]
Lisa can you do me a favor, can you take the girl out of this picture? I would do it but it would TAKE ME DAYS! Its for my friend and I would really really appreciate it!!!
Lisa [December 2 at 1:06am]
you know... there isn't much of anything I can grab to put in place of the girl... unless you want me to do a green screen effect and attempt to change the entire bg... which may not look very real.

Perhaps what your friend really needs is a vacation... and an ukulele.
Lisa [December 2 at 5:47pm]
Is he lonely? Maybe he could use a friend... or better yet.. some brotherly love?
HEY! DOWN IN FRONT!!... You won't like him when he's angry...
